How MeraCV draft recovery works
The builder can remember what you typed so a refresh does not wipe the form. That memory lives on the device in front of you. It is not synced to MeraCV servers and it is not a login.
What is saved
When draft recovery is working, this browser stores your resume fields, the selected language, the selected template, and the time of the last save. The key in local storage is meracv.localDraft.v1. You do not need to know that name unless you are inspecting the browser yourself.
What is not saved
- No MeraCV account, inbox, or cloud dashboard.
- No copy of your resume waiting on another phone.
- No automatic backup if you clear site data or uninstall the browser.
When the draft will not come back
- A different browser (Chrome is not Safari).
- A private or incognito window after you close it.
- Another device.
- Clearing cookies and site data, or using “Clear all data” in the builder.
- A corrupted or unreadable stored draft — the builder ignores that rather than overwriting a good form with junk.
The PDF is a separate file
Downloading a PDF writes a file to your device. Clearing the browser draft does not delete that file. If you need the resume tomorrow, keep the PDF (or copy the text) somewhere you control.
How to remove the draft
In the builder, choose “Clear all data” and confirm. That is the product control for wiping meracv.localDraft.v1 from this browser. Hosting the website still involves ordinary request logs (IP, URL, time) at the host, and visit measurement with Google Analytics. Those are not your resume fields. The privacy page states this in plain language.
